The responsible movement of freedom, inclusion, and creativity
Freedom, Inclusion and Creativity
Berlin Fashion Week serves as a platform where designers can freely develop their creative work while expressing their individual convictions. This openness extends beyond fashion and includes personal aspects such as sexual orientation, gender identity, cultural heritage, religion and political views.
Guided by the values of freedom and tolerance, Berlin Fashion Week stands firmly against all forms of discrimination and actively promotes an inclusive space that celebrates diversity.
Sustainability
Sustainability and transparency is a core component of BFW. Since 2024, theSustainability Requirements Framework established by Copenhagen Fashion Week has been gradually integrated. Following a successful pilot phase, the framework will come fully into effect from the SS27 season onwards and will apply to all brands presenting a show on the Official BFW Schedule.
Berlin Fashion Week will continue to support brands that do not yet meet the criteria and encourage them to work towards meeting the requirements in the future.
Berlin Fashion Week is an initiative of the Berlin Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises (SenWEB), with location marketing realised by Berlin Partner.
Fashion Council Germany (FCG), together with Press Factory GmbH (communications) and Uhura Digital (digital and social media), is commissioned by Berlin Partner to handle implementation, coordination, organisation and communication.
SenWEB supports selected brands, formats and platforms, which form the foundation of Berlin Fashion Week. These are complemented by other events from Berlin's international creative scene and included in the official BFW Schedule. Financial support is focused on promoting talent and emerging designers.
Berlin Fashion Week also cooperates with other partners. For partnership inquiries, please contact coordination@fashion-council-germany.org
Berlin Fashion Week plays a central role in the promotion of emerging fashion talent. It not only provides a platform for designers to present their collections to an international audience, but also encourages dialogue with buyers, fashion journalists and other creatives.
