MARKE

ABOUT THE BRAND
MARKE, founded by designer Mario Keine, delves into the human spirit as a dynamic and evolving construct. The collections create space for exploring diverse aesthetics, embracing hybridity, fluidity, and eclecticism. Drawing inspiration from art, culture, historical eras, folklore, and future possibilities, MARKE’s designs weave together past and present.
ABOUT THE COLLECTION
Marke’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection, titled “The Owl”, takes its name from a quote in the preface of Hegel’s Philosophy of Right. The collection reflects designer Mario Keine’s attempt to make sense of the absurd and seemingly inverted world we currently live in – one shaped by the increasing circulation of misinformation, the privileging of aesthetics and content over knowledge, and the priorisation of capitalism over community. Marke frames the moment as a regression to a pre-Enlightenment state, ushering in what he calls a Neo-Rococo era: a resistance of progress marked by the rise of elitist superiority and a mainstream indulgence in performative hedonism. The ideas materialise in the designs, drawing on uniform elements from the emergence of classical menswear, contrasted with motifs of late Rococo decadence. Tulle overlays, veils, and dried flowers appear as symbols of withering beauty and fading excess. The material palette includes Australian Merino wool, virgin wool partially layered with polka-dot tulle, cashmere, silk duchesse details, and striped cottons. Departing from the brand’s signature oversized silhouette, Marke moves towards a more fitted, slim and consciously restrained look this season – an assertion of clarity and focus in times of chaos and disruption.
