HIGHLIGHTS 7/7 BFW SS26

Orange Culture
Orange Culture presented its latest collection "In the Shadow," which explored the complexity of mental health. The label worked with a mix of materials including Regenesis fabrics, handwoven Aso-Oke, cotton, wool, and sequins. An inner sense of conflict was reflected in the play on proportions, shifting from flowing to sharply tailored. Tailored pieces were deconstructed and repurposed, for example, blazers turned into skirts or worn backwards. Bold colors and vibrant prints celebrated the beauty of letting go of the illusion of perfection, while black-and-white looks grounded the collection.

Andrej Gronau
Andrej Gronau invited guests to a restored factory building in Neukölln to present his latest designs. While this collection also featured his signature playful details such as bows, stripes, and star patterns, it felt more mature. Alongside checked shirts and cotton shorts in bold colors like yellow and red, the designer focused more on knitwear and tailoring in muted tones such as brown, navy, and olive green. In doing so, he succeeded in expanding his repertoire without losing his DNA.

IOANNES
To close Berlin Fashion Week, IOANNES presented his collection "Better Grow Thorns Than Thicker Skin" at the Orangerie Charlottenburg - a statement urging that vulnerability be seen not as weakness, but as strength. The designer translated this vulnerability into skin-tight silhouettes, sheer fabrics, delicate ruffles, and pastel tones, while boxy blazers and coats, along with floor-length leather and sequin fringes on dresses and bags in black, symbolized strength. A fitting finale, which guests toasted afterward with a drink in the evening sun.

TELL THE TRUTH
Titled "CULT" and with an overall theme of ecstatic and rebellious energy, the new collection by Tell The Truth builds upon the last showcase in London which created so much buzz, people described the brand as a cult. The focus for this season is on sustainability, using eco-conscious materials such as vegan leather, next to washed nylons and oil-dyed cottons - fabrics absorbing light and reflecting mood. The color palette is built on red, with black as the foundation of the collection.

Gerrit Jacob
A sea of fake banknotes and four menacing figures awaited visitors at the screening of Gerrit Jacob's Spring/Summer 2026 collection. Titled "Game Over," the film accompanying the collection - created in collaboration with Axonbody - was shown on three large screens. It featured unidentifiable figures moving like animated characters in video games, reminiscent of those in the installation. They all wore Gerrit Jacob's signature oversized pieces, boldly printed with imaginary banknote motifs. The collection film referenced themes such as capitalism, consumerism, power, and greed while exploring the question: When is the game of life over?
